2004 - 2006

MSc in Physics, University of Pune, India. Major subjects: Nonlinear Dynamics, Methods of Computational Physics

Master Thesis: Elastic Pendulum - Dynamical features of 2D elastic pendulum were studied in my master thesis project.
It is important to use proper numerical integrator to study a conservative system. It is noticed that symplectic integrator (geometric integrator) is better than RK4 in capturing the dynamics of elastic pendulum. It preserves the volume in phase space.
It is also noticed that the dynamic is regular at low and high energy levels, whereas
it is chaotic at intermediate energy level. Resonance of oscillation happens due to the
sharing of energy between swinging and springing motions.

2000 - 2003 BSc in Physics, University of Calcutta, India. Auxiliary subjects: Chemistry, Mathematics
